‘This Is Poly’ & ‘Love After Lockup’ Nita’s Arrest History Revealed

On the season premiere of Love After Lockup, viewers met Nita, who had been serving time for a DUI. Then, she popped up on the series premiere of This Is Poly, so there was a double dose. As for her arrest record, she does have a history, and this is not her first rodeo. So, what has she been arrested for in the past? Keep reading for more details.

Nita Is Making Herself Known

WeTV fans have been waiting for the return of Love After Lockup. It is always fascinating to see how couples adapt once their incarcerated partner is released from prison. This season, there is a throuple, Kami, Trent, and Nita, with the latter having been behind bars. That being said, they are all ready to see how their romance can move forward, which is why they were cast on the new series, This Is Poly. It does a deep dive into the lives of the polyamorous and how they handle jealousy, love, families, and more.

As for Nita, she was in prison for a DUI. However, this is not the first time she has gotten arrested, and the question is, will it be her last? It has just been revealed that Nita was arrested twice before, both times for a DUI. Moreover, Trent detailed one incident that ended in a drug-fueled car crash:

“Almost two years ago, the three of us got in a big fight. She actually went off, you know, and relapsed back into taking drugs and ended up rear-ending another vehicle.”

The Love After Lockup star shared that she had to be in jail for sixty days and knows that she messed up. Yet, she did try to defend herself by saying she comes from a family of addicts:

“I come from, like, generational addiction. Like, my mother was an addict, my mother’s mother was an addict. Like, feelings were looked at as a weakness where I’m from, you know what I mean? You get eaten alive.”

However, it does not look like Nita’s life is going to get any easier based on the scrutiny she is facing from This Is Poly.

Is This Show For Real?

Viewers went right from Love After Lockup into This Is Poly. Therefore, the journey of Nita, Trent, and Kami continued. Yet, they did not understand how anyone could watch Nita and actually like her. One fan branded her “insufferable,” so hopefully, she has thick skin:

• Nita seems insufferable. Thinks very highly of herself for NO apparent reason 😒 An alcoholic asking “where’s my drink” before she even gets down the steps of the jail building, and two enablers pulling out multiple bottles while their seemingly weirdly overly-invested daughter looks on smiling… Yeah I don’t like them at all. And the husband’s loud very forced laugh is annoying asf
