David Muir Recently Returned From A Summer Absence On ABC World News Tonight

During a recent broadcast, Muir interrupted with a breaking news update, described as “historic.” As shared in the segment, Indiana had declared a state of emergency over severe flooding.
Multiple communities had reportedly been completely submerged. At the time, Muir emphasized that rescue crews had deployed drones to uncover flood victims.
The Alert Halted Muir’s Previous Coverage Of Iran On The Program
While introducing the footage, Muir shared, “The state of emergency tonight, historic flooding, and life-threatening conditions. The storms in the aftermath. This is Indiana here. And tonight, look at this. Emergency teams now using drones with night vision to search for possible victims. ABC’s Alex Perez in the Storm Zone tonight.” At the time, the update halted Muir’s previous coverage of Iran.
The story was also covered on World News Tonight‘s Instagram page. It read, “@perezreports is on the scene in Indiana, where a state of emergency has been declared following historic flooding left multiple communities underwater. Rescue operations continue around the clock as receding waters in other areas reveal the damage done.”
With the post shared on social media, various people weighed in on the story. Many people involved in the story shared updates, while others expressed sympathy. A few people also got political, discussing President Donald Trump’s policies concerning climate change. Some comments included:
