Heidi Klum posted a date on Instagram and left. “July 9 @projectrunway.” A party emoji. A heart. She didn’t name a network, attach a trailer, or write a single word of explanation. She tagged the official Project Runway account and that was it.
Something is happening on July 9. What, exactly, nobody knows yet. A premiere, a reboot, a reunion – Klum’s not saying, and the official Project Runway account hasn’t weighed in either.
For a post this short, it’s doing a lot of heavy lifting.
Klum didn’t casually tag the show somewhere. She made her own post, put a specific date on it, and pushed it out to her entire following. That’s not accidental nostalgia. That’s a tease.
She’s got more history with this show than almost anyone. Klum hosted Project Runway for 16 seasons, from the very first episode in 2004 through 2018. She and mentor Tim Gunn were the backbone of that series for over a decade. Klum handled the eliminations, delivered the verdicts, and made “you’re in or you’re out” a phrase people actually used. The show launched on Bravo, moved to Lifetime, and built a genuine audience along the way.
It also produced some real careers. Christian Siriano won Season 4 and is genuinely one of the most prominent designers to come out of any reality competition show. He dresses celebrities at major award shows and runs an actual fashion house. Judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia became recognizable names partly because of their years on that panel.
Klum left in 2018. She took Gunn with her to Making the Cut on Amazon Prime – a higher-budget, more global take on the design competition format. Making the Cut ran for three seasons and then wrapped up. Project Runway kept going after her exit, going through some changes of its own.
Klum has stayed busy. She’s hosted Germany’s Next Top Model since 2006. She’s kept a full schedule. Now she’s pointing at a July 9 Project Runway date with party-face energy.
Her Instagram post pulled in over 6,200 likes, with no follow-up from Klum and no response from the Project Runway account as of this writing.
What July 9 actually marks is still an open question. A premiere, a reunion special, some kind of announcement – the party emoji doesn’t narrow it down much.
What’s confirmed is that Klum’s excited. July 9 is seventeen days out. Set a reminder.
