Hulu Bags The Rights To Stream ‘Zom 100’ TV Anime Adaptation

    Hulu has bagged the rights to stream Zom 100 TV anime adaptation. Based on the comedy horror manga Zom 100: Bucket List Of The Dead, the series will soon be available for streaming later this year. Written by Haro Aso and illustrated by Kotaro Takata, the manga is serialized in Shogakukan’s seinen manga magazine, Monthly Sunday Gene-X since October 19, 2018.     When Will Zom 100 Premiere On Hulu?

    For fans that love some comedy mixed with horror and fantasy, Zom 100: Bucket List Of The Dead is an ideal choice. Following a production and development deal between Japan’s Shogakukan, Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions, and U.S. Viz Media, the anime series will soon premiere on Hulu. As confirmed by Viz Media and Anime News Network, the series will premiere in July 2023. However, no specific date has been announced yet.

    While Hulu owns the rights to stream the series in the United States, other streaming partners across the globe will be announced soon by Viz Media. Zom 100: Bucket List Of The Dead’s creator Aso is one of the top manga creators. Among his famous works is Alice In Borderland which was adapted into a live-action TV series for Netflix in 2020. The series was renewed for a second season which premiered in December 2022 on the streamer.

    Bug Films Is Handling Zom 100’s Animation Production

    Aso revealed in his statement how excited he is for the upcoming TV anime. He said, “Zom 100 is finally getting an anime!! I’ve had a chance to take a sneak peek at the script, character design, and teasers, and I have to say, they’re all beautiful. The quality is great. I’m thrilled! I can’t wait to see Akira and his friends come to life, now through the medium of animation, to see them in color, with actual voices, with actual music.”

    On the other hand, the series’ illustrator Takata first entered the manga scene in 2009 with Hallelujah Overdrive! Moreover, in 2017, he also served as the artist for another Monthly Shonen Sunday title written by Io Naomichi titled I Am Sherlock. The animation production for the upcoming anime series is being handled by Bug Films while the production credit is with Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions Co.

    The story of Zom 100: Bucket List Of The Dead revolves around Akira. He is physically and mentally spent working at a company for three years. At the age of 24, his life is nothing more than a big disappointment. However, things take a big turn after a zombie apocalypse descends on Japan. Surrounded by zombies, he finally realizes that his life has changed forever.
