How To Stay Fit While Snowed In (Best Full Body Workout At Home)

    Date:

When the snow is coming down hard and the roads are too treacherous to drive on, it can be tough to find a way to stay fit.

Gyms are closed and most people don’t have the space at home to set up a full gym. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get in a great workout!

In today’s article, I’m breaking out a selection of at-home, full-body workout options that will help you stay in shape when you can’t leave your house.

Best HIIT Workout Routine For Men

When it comes to effective and quick workout routines, there’s nothing better than high-intensity interval training (HIIT) to shed those pounds FAST.

What’s more, most HIIT workouts can be done in the comfort of your own home. You don’t need any expensive gear, machines or space. Just a yoga mat, timer and the motivation to get up and at ’em.

    What Is HIIT Training?

For those new to HIIT, it’s an intense style of exercise that combines short bursts of activity at near-maximum effort with brief rest periods.

This type of high-intensity interval training helps you get the most out of your workout in a shorter amount of time and is one of the best at home full body workouts for men.

The science behind HIIT training is pretty simple. When you do an intense workout at a higher intensity, your body uses more energy at recovery than when doing exercises at a lower intensity.

This means that HIIT training helps you to burn fat faster and more efficiently than other types of exercise. So you can get fit quickly, without having to leave the house.

The Best All-Round HIIT Routine For Men

    Travel Workout- Pushup

I’m no personal trainer. However, I am one heck of a busy guy. Between taking care of the kids, running my businesses and being a good husband, it’s hard to find time to work out at the gym.

That’s why I’d like to share with you the at-home HIIT circuit that I use to stay fit and healthy. It’s simple, effective and can be done in just 10 minutes. All you need is a timer and a bit of motivation!

    Here’s how it works:

    1. Complete each exercise for 45 seconds and then move on to the next one.
    2. Once you’ve completed one round of exercises, take a 60-second break and repeat the cycle
    3. Complete 3 rounds of this whole circuit routine

The aim is to complete as many reps of each exercise as you can in the given time frame. For some of you, that might be a lot while others might only manage a few. That’s totally fine – as long as you push yourself to your limit, this HIIT routine should do you wonders:

    1. Push-Ups (45 seconds)
    2. Squats (45 seconds)
    3. Skipping Rope (45 seconds)
    4. Burpees (45 seconds)
    5. Mountain Climbers (45 seconds)
    6. 60 Second Rest
    7. REPEAT

    Weight Training At Home

    Man Gym Exercise Workout

If you’re lucky enough to own your own weight set, then there’s no reason you can’t use them to workout at home. Some of you may already have been doing this for years while combining it with outside cardio like jogging or cycling.

To adapt your weight training to suit a strictly at-home routine, you’re going to have to find a way to incorporate your cardio within your weight-lifting session.

To do this, simply combine a weight lifting exercise with an at-home cardio move and take short rest periods between each exercise.

For example, you could start with 10 reps of bicep curls followed by 30 seconds on the skipping rope and then 10 bench presses, before taking a 20-second break.

You can create your own workout plan at home by picking exercises that work for all muscle groups and adapting them to suit your fitness level. This is one of the best full-body, at-home workouts for men who are looking to build strength without needing costly gym equipment or memberships.

    Power Yoga At Home

Yoga may not be something that immediately comes to mind when it comes to full-body, at-home workouts. In fact, a lot of guys think Yoga is an exercise reserved for women and guys with surfer haircuts and star sign tattoos. However, those guys couldn’t be more wrong.

Power yoga at home is an effective at-home, full-body workout that helps to build strength and agility at the same time. It’s also great at helping you to stay flexible, which is beneficial for muscle recovery after a hard HIIT session or weight training session.

New to Yoga? You can find lots of resources online and learn the ropes.

How Does Yoga Benefit The Body?

Yoga is great at helping you to build strength and flexibility at the same time. It also helps with balance, focus, and mental clarity. Unlike other types of exercise, yoga works on all parts of your body at the same time – giving you a full-body workout in just one session.

It’s important to note that this isn’t an excuse not to do any cardio at home. Having said that, if you can combine power yoga at home with some HIIT or weight training, then you’re well on your way to seeing results faster than ever before.

Can Yoga Help You Build Muscle?

Yes, yoga at home can help you to build muscle. It won’t be as intense as lifting weights at the gym but it will still help to increase your strength and definition over time.

Yoga also helps with focus, flexibility and balance – all of which are essential for building muscle at the gym or at home.

So if you’re stuck at home this winter looking for a way to stay fit and active, then why not try out some at-home HIIT circuits, weight training exercises and power yoga? They’re all great full-body workouts that can be done right in the comfort of your own house. Plus they’ll help you achieve your fitness goals faster than ever before!

    Couple’s Workout Routines At Home

The great thing about at-home workouts is that you can do them as a couple. That’s right – you and your partner can both get in shape at the same time!

There are lots of different at-home workout routines available online, with exercises specifically designed for couples. They often involve partner stretches, core exercises and cardio circuits that require two people to complete them.

So why not set down an hour or two a day and make it quality time while you work on achieving your fitness goals? Working out at home together will also give you a great opportunity to have fun, spend quality time together and motivate each other to reach new levels of fitness.

What Exercises Can Couples Do Together?

There are lots of different at-home exercises that couples can do together. These include partner stretches, core exercises and cardio circuits.

Partner stretches involve holding each other in various positions to help increase flexibility, while core exercises such as planks or burpees require both people to work together at the same time. Cardio circuits involve doing sets of different movements at a quick pace – often with one person leading and the other following them.

Are There Differences Between Male And Female Exercises?

Yes, there are differences between male and female at-home exercises. Men typically need to focus more on building strength and muscle mass, while women tend to focus more on bodyweight exercises such as squats, lunges and sit-ups.

Both men and women can benefit from yoga at home – with the added bonus of increased flexibility for both genders. After all, it’s important for both men and women to have a well-rounded fitness routine at home.

    Bodyweight Exercises At Home

Bodyweight exercises are another great at-home workout option for those looking to stay active during the winter months. Bodyweight exercises are exercises that use your own body weight as resistance, such as squats and push-ups. They don’t require any equipment or weights – just you and some motivation!

You can do these types of exercises at home at any time, making them perfect for those stuck inside due to snow or inclement weather. Plus they’re also a great way to build strength, improve flexibility and help with weight loss goals.

It sounds obvious, but the tricky thing about bodyweight exercises is they rely on the weight of your body. As such, it can be tough for guys who are a bit larger or heavier to get the full effects of certain bodyweight movements.

One way around this is to use objects at home such as chairs or backpacks loaded with books to add extra resistance. This will make the exercises far more effective at helping you reach your fitness goals, while still being able to do them at home.
