    Crumb Catcher Trailer

“I want you to take a journey… a journey into the future.” Music Box Films has revealed one more official trailer for a peculiar indie dark comedy called Crumb Catcher, opening in art house theaters later in July. This premiered at the Fantastic Fest 2023 last year, with stops at the Woodstock and Brooklyn Horror Film Fests as well. A newlywed couple is held captive in a remote lake house by a maniacally optimistic inventor and his sour wife who are desperate to finance his dream project with a half-baked blackmail plot. Starring Rigo Garay, Ella Rae Peck, Lorraine Farris, and John Speredakos. “A gonzo home invasion thriller from Larry Fessenden’s Glass Eye Pix that pummels the American Dream into just desserts, Crumb Catcher is a striking directorial debut from Chris Skotchdopole.” Armed with his proprietary & precious design and with his surly wife Rose by his side, John insists that the couple hear his pitch. And he won’t take “no” for an answer. Ha! This sounds and looks kooky and weird and definitely very freaky. Reviews from fests say this is “funny, bizarre, uncomfortable, and an absolute cringe-fest for all the best reasons.” Okay sure I’m curious…

Here’s the final official trailer (+ poster) for Chris Skotchdopole’s Crumb Catcher, direct from YouTube:

“Everyone has a world-changing invention in them. Enter… The Crumb Catcher! A revolutionary device that will never allow your dinner conversation to sour due to a waiter’s interruptions.” At a remote estate in upstate New York, newlyweds Leah (Ella Rae Peck) & Shane (Rigo Garay) celebrate their honeymoon, but a pall hangs over their union. She works for the publisher who will be releasing his debut novel, a lightly autobiographical examination of family trauma, alcoholism, and the immigrant experience. Barely suppressed tensions over family trauma would be enough kindling for a blowup, but their new marriage is truly tested by the appearance of two weirdos with entrepreneurial zeal and a half-baked blackmail plot: John (John Speredakos) and Rose (Lorraine Farris). They are now looking for investors for John’s latest invention, a culinary breakthrough called the Crumb Catcher — and they will not take “no” for an answer.

Crumb Catcher is directed by indie filmmaker Chris Skotchdopole, making his feature directorial debut after numerous other short films previously. The screenplay is also written by Skotchdopole, from a story by Skotchdopole and Larry Fessenden & Rigo Garay. It’s produced by Brian Devine, Larry Fessenden, Chadd Harbold, Chris Skotchdopole, James W. Skotchdopole, and Bonnie Timmermann. This initially premiered at Fantastic Fest 2023 last year, and at a few other film festivals. Music Box Films will debut Skotchdopole’s Crumb Catcher in select US theaters starting on July 19th, 2024. For more details, visit their official site.
