Val Chmerkovskiy was just suspended from Season 35 of Dancing With the Stars for making a violent comment toward Carrie Ann Inaba. He apologized, but that was not enough, and there are consequences for actions. Now, fans are having their say and are questioning the amount of “domestic violence” in Season 35. Keep reading for more on what DWTS viewers have to say.
DWTS Is Missing The Mark
For many seasons, DWTS fans have felt there have been biases and favoritism on the judges’ behalf. They have complained about harsh criticism and poor scoring. Yet, nothing has happened, and viewers continued to enjoy the reality dance competition for what it was. It was meant to be entertaining, but Season 35 has changed all of that, and it has become increasingly aggressive. Fans have gotten vicious on social media, demanding that judge Carrie Ann Inaba be removed from the show.

The cast has challenged the judges, viewers have been livid over who is being sent home, and the stars are feeling the anger. Therefore, they have attempted to spread positivity. Unfortunately, a recent event involving pro Val Chmerkovskiy has caused backlash and outrage. He did not care for Carrie Ann’s critique, so he posted:
“You almost saw Fresh Prince enter the ballroom last night.”
Val stated that he almost pulled a Will Smith at the Oscars when he slapped Chris Rock. However, he soon deleted this post and issued an apology. As of Saturday, October 17th, Val has been suspended for the week, with Alan Bersten taking his place. Many DWTS viewers do not think that this is fair, as they do not care for Carrie Ann Inaba. However, others are questioning why the violence in Season 35. Before the season started, Brandon Armstrong and Ciara Miller filmed a promo where he pretended to slap her.

They did it to a Euphoria voiceover but deleted it as soon as the backlash came in. Combining that incident with Val’s “threat,” one fan asked this:
- What’s with all the domestic violence references, Ciara and her partner did a fake slapping media post aswell.
Is The Show Too Violent?
So, are the DWTS pros and celebrities too violent? Moreover, do they think that they can get away with bad behavior due to the longevity of the series? Someone noted that Val and his brother, Maks, have been on the show for so long that they may believe they can get away with anything:
- I guess because Val is so popular, he thought he could get away with it. Guess he’ll be thinking twice about how invincible he and the Chmerkovskiy family really are.
Other fans were stunned that the show took action against Val:
- Dang I’m shocked they did something!! I wonder who Jenna will be dancing with!!
- Amazing news!! Glad they are doing something about it
- GOOD! He deserves consequences. Violence against women should never be taken lightly.
