Savannah Guthrie returned to NBC’s 30 Rockefeller Plaza for the first time since her mother, Nancy Guthrie, vanished from her Arizona home. The “Today” show co-host made a private, off-camera visit to thank her colleagues for their support. The ongoing investigation into her mother’s abduction case which began on January 31 has not produced any publicly identified suspects.

NBC News confirmed the visit in a statement. “Savannah Guthrie stopped by the studio this morning to be with and thank her ‘Today’ colleagues,” it read. “While she plans to return to the show on air she remains focused right now supporting her family and working to help bring Nancy home.” The 90-year-old woman went missing from her home located within a secured residential area which is situated close to Tucson. The authorities have held back essential information while the $1 million reward for information has not produced any results.

The current situation has led observers to reach a conclusion which they believe will end badly. “Unfortunately at this point I highly doubt that Nancy will be found alive” one commenter wrote online. “Feels like the trail has gone rather cold by now.” The public shared this viewpoint until different theories about the crime’s motive started spreading. Some people believe that a robbery attempt turned fatal when it became a kidnapping situation. “My working theory is whomever did this thought they would pay quickly or something happened due to her mothers medical situation and they disposed of her” another person suggested.

Modern technology should enable faster investigation progress according to some people who doubt current investigation speed. “I’m surprised there hasn’t been any actual evidence pointing one way or the other” one user noted. The case has generated continuous speculation because it involves an elderly woman who was abducted from her secure home. A prominent theory is that the kidnappers may not have initially known their victim’s famou. In other celebrity news, Savannah Guthrie recently debuted a stunning new haircut, while Brad Paisley made headlines with his music choice.
