Dutton Ranch ended its first season with several shocking twists. The finale also set up major stories for Dutton Ranch Season 2. While several characters are expected to return, at least one major cast member appears to be leaving after the dramatic ending.

Who is leaving Dutton Ranch in Season 2?

The biggest reported departure appears to be Jai Courtney. He played Rob-Will Jackson during the show’s first season. Rob-Will was shot and killed in the season finale.

The episode hinted that Joaquin Jackson, played by Juan Pablo Raba, was behind the shooting. His exact role remains unclear, as the actor has stated that he is not the killer. With Rob-Will’s death, Courtney is not expected back. A return could only happen through flashback scenes. As of now, nothing has been officially confirmed.

Season 1 ended with several major cliffhangers for viewers. Beth and Rip exposed Beulah Jackson’s illegal cattle operation. They also discovered the ranch was being used for fentanyl smuggling. After learning Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler knew everything, cartel leader Mariano Reyes targeted them. Beth, Rip, Everett, and their ranch hands survived the attack.

However, the finale ended with another shocking twist. Mariano kidnapped Beth and Rip’s adopted son, Carter. That moment officially introduced the show’s biggest villain heading into Season 2.

Who all are likely to return in Dutton Ranch Season 2?

Fans can expect Kelly Reilly, who plays Beth Dutton, and Cole Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler, to return. They will once again lead the series as Beth and Rip. Both stars also serve as executive producers on the show.

Several other important characters are also expected back. Annette Bening will likely return as Beulah Jackson. Ed Harris is also expected back as Everett. Juan Pablo Raba should return as Joaquin Jackson. Raoul Max Trujillo is also likely back as Mariano Reyes. After kidnapping Carter in the finale, Reyes looks to become Season 2’s main villain.

Although Paramount+ has not announced the full Season 2 cast yet, most of the surviving main characters are expected to return. For now, Jai Courtney remains the only major cast member to leave Dutton Ranch before Season 2 begins.
