“What if the wall is a code? A code for what…?” Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a thriller titled Brick, arriving to watch in July this summer. Not to be confused with Rian Johnson’s classic Brick. This German thriller is directed by Philip Koch and is getting a global push – this trailer is dubbed in English. They want to leave, but their apartment won’t let them. A mysterious thriller about a home that becomes a trap. Tim & Olivia awake one morning trapped in their apartment behind an impenetrable, futuristic wall which has materialized overnight. Where did it come from and why? Soon they found out that others in their apartment complex have the same problem. Without any chance of outside help, all of the neighbors must band together to find a way out. This seems like it’s a riff on both Cube with The Platform, while also commenting on how society should learn to work together and we should be grateful for good neighbors. Or not. Starring Matthias Schweighöfer and Ruby O. Fee, with Frederick Lau, Salber Lee Williams, Murathan Muslu, Axel Werner, Sira-Anna Faal, & Alexander Beyer. This looks cool – I’m intrigued.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Philip Koch’s thriller film Brick, direct from Netflix’s YouTube:
