“Outside of us, no one knows what happened… Right?” Sony Pictures has debuted a second official trailer for 2025 horror reboot I Know What You Did Last Summer, more of a horror remake / legacy sequel bringing back the original cast from the classic 90s horror movie again. The first I Know What You Did Last Summer opened in 1997 and was a huge hit in the 90s, resulting in two sequels: I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (the next year in 1998) and I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (a direct-to-video sequel in 2006). This next one connects back to the Southport, North Carolina accident from the first movie. A group of friends are terrorized by a stalker who knows about a gruesome incident from their past. Starring Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers (also in Him), Sarah Pidgeon, Billy Campbell, Gabbriette Bechtel, Austin Nichols, Lola Tung, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, with Freddie Prinze Jr., and Jennifer Love Hewitt (as Ray & Julie from the original movies). Very similar to the first trailer, with a few extra shots added in. I’m still not convinced this will be any good.
Trailer #2 for Jennifer Kaytin Robinson’s horror I Know What You Did Last Summer, from YouTube:
You can watch the first trailer for Robinson’s I Know What You Did Last Summer horror sequel right here.
When five friends inadvertently cause a deadly car accident, they cover up their involvement and make a pact to keep it a secret rather than face the consequences. A year later, their past comes back to haunt them and they’re forced to confront a horrifying truth: someone knows what they did last summer…and is hell-bent on revenge. As one by one the friends are stalked by a killer, they discover this has happened before, and they turn to two survivors of the legendary Southport Massacre of 1997 for help. I Know What You Did Last Summer is directed by American writer / filmmaker Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, director of the films Someone Great and Do Revenge previously, and also a writer on Unpregnant and Thor: Love and Thunder. The screenplay is by Sam Lansky & Jennifer Kaytin Robinson; from a story by Leah McKendrick & Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. Produced by Neal H. Moritz. Sony Pictures will debut this new I Know What You Did Last Summer in theaters nationwide starting on July 18th, 2025 in the middle of this summer. Scary?
