Kailyn Lowry recently shared an update about her father during a recent podcast episode. While there, she shared a shocking health update concerning him. The Teen Mom alum also revealed her plans concerning his end-of-life happenings.
Fans Were Introduced To Kailyn Lowry & Her Family On 16 & Pregnant
Lowry was first announced as a cast member on Teen Mom 2 back in 2010, in addition to appearing on 16 & Pregnant. The year prior, she gave birth to her son, Isaac Elliot Rivera.
In 2013, Lowry gave birth to her second son, Lincoln Marshall. She would have two more sons with Chris Lopez, Lux Russell and Creed Romello. She would later have three children with Elijah Scott: Rio, Verse, and Valley.
Viewers were also introduced to Kailyn’s parents from her own television appearances. Recently, she shared an update with fans about her father, Raymond, during her podcast, Karma & Chaos, which she co-hosts with Becky Hayter.
During the conversation, Kailyn revealed that her father has stage four COPD, a lung disease that impacts breathing. She then revealed that he is in hospice care.
Kailyn noted, “I know you’re in the dead dad’s club… I will be joining that as well.” Sharing that she learned the news through an aunt, she admitted having “conflicted” feelings over what was happening.
Kailyn continued, “Obviously, I don’t have a relationship with him and never did, but I feel like I didn’t ever get the answers I have been looking for. In 2019, I sent him a message asking him to take a DNA test, and he told me he would. I sent him one, and he refused to take it.”
The Teen Mom star explained that she had questions concerning Raymond’s father. She also wanted to connect with other family members.
Fans Previously Saw Kailyn Meet Her Father On The Reality Show
The star continued, “I feel like you don’t get to die without answering all my questions I have. I want to know why he left. I want to know why he didn’t try harder. I want to know why he just gave up. I want to know why he didn’t just give up on me but turned around and did the same thing to my sister.”
“My sister never really had answers. I feel he owes us both explanations. I am mad at him… I want to know how someone walks through this earth and does the bare minimum to get by in life. Where is your head at?”
Kailyn shared she is planning to go to Dallas, Texas, and wants to “confront” her father. However, she shared she has no plans on attending his funeral.
On 16 & Pregnant, viewers got to see Kailyn travel to Dallas to meet her father. While happy when she first met him, she seemed disappointed to realize they didn’t have much in common. HE also seemed hesitant to be around her more.
Kailyn is also estranged from her mother, Suzi Irwin. On 16 & Pregnant, she was seen living with her then-boyfriend Jo’s parents.
