President Donald Trump has often made headlines during his presidency with posts on social media. Recently, he shared a post concerning the 2020 election. During the moment, he criticized a number of media outlets, including Fox News.
President Donald Trump’s Social Media Platform, Truth Social, Launched In 2022
Trump currently serves as the 47th president of the United States. Prior to this, he had served as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021.
Prior to this, Trump was known to many through various business ventures and media personalities. In early 2022, his Trump Media & Technology Group launched a social media platform, Truth Social.

Since then, Trump has often made headlines with a number of social media posts. In one recent post, Trump discussed multiple news organizations in a story revolving around the 2020 election.
Trump started his post, sharing, “Fake and Fraudulent Polling should be, virtually, a criminal offense.” He then made the claim that polls during the 2020 election were “knowingly wrong.”
Trump continued, claiming that this may have been an attempt to influence the election. He shared, “I won in a Landslide, including winning the Popular Vote, all 7 of the 7 Swing States, the Electoral College was a route, and 2,750 Counties to 525.”

The president then continued to list a number of outlets he claimed shared these polls, including “The Failing New York Times, ABC Fake News, NBC Fake News, CBS Fake News, Low Ratings CNN, or the now defunct MSDNC.” Later in the post, he named two other outlets, writing, “Even the Polls of FoxNews and The Wall Street Journal have been, over the years, terrible!”
This Post Followed A Previous Share Trump Made Last Week Concerning The New York Times
As Trump continued his post, he mourned the current state of “American Journalism.” He ended the post sharing, “I am going to do everything possible to keep this Polling SCAM from moving forward!”
Notably, the post comes out following a share from last week in which Trump discussed his defamation lawsuit against the New York Times. At the time, he shared that he was expanding it to include polling. He shared, “The Times Siena Poll, which is always tremendously negative to me, especially just before the Election of 2024, where I won in a Landslide, will be added to my lawsuit against The Failing New York Times.”
As noted by The Daily Beast, the latest New York Times/Siena poll claimed that Trump’s approval rating fell to 40%. Around half of those polled said Trump’s policies made life less affordable.
As the outlet noted, the New York Times has defended it poll. According to Deadline, Charlie Stadtlander, a spokesperson for the Times, shared, “We aim to produce the most reliable survey of public opinion possible, and our polls have been widely cited for their rigor.”
