More devastating details about the death of Robert Carradine have been revealed.
As we previously reported, the 71-year-old actor’s family revealed he died by suicide on Monday night following a two-decade-long battle with bipolar disorder. They said in a statement earlier this week:
“It is with profound sadness that we must share that our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and brother Robert Carradine has passed away. In a world that can feel so dark, Bobby was always a beacon [of] light to everyone around him. We are bereft at the loss of this beautiful soul and want to acknowledge Bobby’s valiant struggle against his nearly two-decade battle with Bipolar Disorder. We hope his journey can shine a light and encourage addressing the stigma that attaches to mental illness.”

Now the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has confirmed Robert’s cause of death. According to TMZ on Friday, the medical examiner listed the Lizzie McGuire alum’s manner of death as a suicide. The cause of death is sequelae of anoxic brain injury and hanging, meaning he died from a lack of oxygen to the brain. TMZ also reported that the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner revealed Robert died in a hospital.
Incredibly sad. We continue to keep his family and friends in our thoughts as they mourn his untimely loss.
