Offset is ready to set off on a new chapter.
A year after his ex Cardi B filed for divorce for the second time, the former Migos rapper revealed that the last track “Move On” on his new album Kiari is about the end of the pair’s relationship.
“It’s about moving on peacefully,” Offset (real name Kiari Cephus) told the Associated Press in an interview published Aug. 16. “That’s what the message is supposed to be.”
The 33-year-old added, “It’s all love and peace. I just ended the album with that, just to end that chapter because it’s time to move on, it’s over and done with.”
In addition to looking toward the future, Offset—who shares kids Kulture Kiari, 7, Wave Set, 3, and Blossom, 11 months, with Cardi—is ready to leave their relationship in the past.
“It was great while it lasted,” he continued. “That shouldn’t be the topic for either one of us no more. It’s a book that’s closed.”
For her part, Cardi (born Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar) has been leaning into her new romance with NFL star Stefon Diggs, which she debuted on Instagram in June. However, she has been searingly vocal about her frustrations with Offset amid their ongoing divorce.
