Even before its debut, the new spin-off 9-1-1: Nashville is brewing in drama. So, ABC and Hulu came with a new promo teasing at its premiere this fall, but all eyes are grieving the death of Bobby Nash. Awkwardly enough for the viewers, Peter Krause’s Bobby Nash from the original 9-1-1 got killed off in the mother show, and viewers never drop the subject.

From the Broadway to the backcountry streets: Emergencies in Nashville can be extremely wild, but the real chaos happens in the comment section. The promo, with shots of fire tornados and fast-paced trampling rescues, was truly flooded with demands about Bobby Nash. One user stated, ‘Man ain’t no 9-1-1 without Bobby!!!’ while another said, ‘The ONLY NASH we want is Bobby Nash, bring him back!’
The rage-and-mourning cocktail is about more than just missing a favorite character. Some are even attacking the whole premise of this new spinoff: ‘Uninteresting city, starring mostly white actors (including our third in a row main captain being a straight white man), after you killed off a beloved main character on the mothership show. Why do you expect anyone to be interested in this again?’ Ouch.
Staying on realism: “A FIRE TORNADO AND YOU KILLED BOBBY FOR REALISM?????” shouted one fan, which sparked a discussion in the replies on whether fire tornados really existed (they apparently do). But the sarcasm kept rolling. “Yeah, because a fire tornado is totally realistic, but bringing Bobby back is where you draw the line,” said another.
‘The only Nash we want is Bobby Nash!!!’ goes the unabashed declaration of love for Bobby Nash. Some fans will refuse to even acknowledge the new series without the miraculous resurrection of this character from 90-1-1. “9-1-1 flopville. Yeah, I’m not watching this unless Bobby Nash comes back,” another ventured.
Even the trailer wasn’t spared. “This preview is giving AI,” one user joked to which another replied, “I got those vibes too.” Something about 9-1-1: Nashville just isn’t clicking with the fanbase: at least, not yet, be it the visuals or the storyline.
The backlash just pointed out another big problem: killing off a beloved character can really sting. “All these comments prove Tim made the worst mistake possible by killing Bobby,” one more voice said. “This franchise died when Tim decided to kill Bobby Nash.”
Will 9-1-1: Nashville somehow win over a skeptical crowd when it premieres this fall, or does Bobby Nash’s absence continue to haunt the franchise? Whichever way, the marketing team for the show probably has an interesting fight ahead of them.
For now, the fans have spoken: Bring back Bobby, or lose a chunk of the audience. And if those comments can be trusted, that is indeed the threat.

So yeah, Nashville might have emergencies, but the real disaster is unfolding within the fandom. And unless there is a plot twist of Earthquake proportions, this spinoff will be fighting two fronts right after day one.
