Ozzfest could make its return in 2027, as hinted by new social media activity and recent comments from Sharon Osbourne herself.
In an interview with Billboard, Sharon revealed that she was recently “talking to Live Nation about bringing [Ozzfest] back.”
“It was something Ozzy was very passionate about: giving young talent a stage in front of a lot of people,” she said. “We really started metal festivals in this country. It was [replicated but] never done with the spirit of what ours was, because ours was a place for new talent. It was like summer camp for kids.”

Sharon highlighted the importance of finding new up-and-coming artists, as the original Ozzfest provided a major career boost for bands such as Slipknot, Disturbed, and others. She also said that she would “like to mix up the genres” with this new iteration, which would return to the traveling tour fest model like the original Ozzfest.
Piggybacking on Sharon’s latest remarks, the official Ozzfest Instagram teased 2027 as a potential window for a comeback, posing the not-so-subtle question via a new post: “Ozzfest could return 2027?”
The last Ozzfest was held as a one-off show at The Forum in Inglewood, California, on New Year’s Eve 2018. It ended as a destination-style festival, although, as mentioned, it long ran as a touring festival during its heyday of 1996 through 2008.
Sharon and Ozzy had last discussed the revival of Ozzfest during a 2024 podcast, in which Sharon said she was open to bringing the festival back as long as artists didn’t charge “trillions” to perform.
