For nearly five years, journalist, radio host, and musician Anne Erickson has put the spotlight on women making their mark on the music industry with her “Beyond the Boys Club” column on Consequence. Now, Erickson is taking the series to the world of audio, bringing the same inspiring and enlightening conversations with some of music’s biggest names to podcast platforms everywhere.
Over the years, Erickson has spoken with the likes of Evanescence’s Amy Lee, Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale, The Pretty Reckless’ Taylor Momsen, Willow Smith, Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson, and more, with discussions seeking to celebrate these talented artists while illuminating readers on their triumphs, obstacles, and lessons learned from years in the music industry. With the Beyond the Boys Club podcast, Erickson will continue to bust down the doors of traditionally male-dominated spaces in music by welcoming women and nonbinary artists from across all genres.
Launching October 17th, the initial episodes of the podcast will feature deep-diving conversations with artists such as Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation), Nita Strauss, Sophie Lloyd, and more, as Erickson gains insights into their creative journeys, the inside scoops on their latest projects, and their unique perspectives on the music industry at large.

In addition to her writing work with Consequence, Erickson is a Detroit-based radio host and journalist who serves as the lead vocalist and songwriter in Upon Wings, founder of Audio Ink Radio, and more.
