Adam Granduciel is a singer, guitarist, and music producer.

He earlier attended Dickinson College to pursue studies in painting and photography. During high school, a teacher’s French pun inspired him to keep his stage name Granduciel, meaning “of the sky.” After relocating to Philadelphia, he met Kurt Vile and began collaborating with him on music. Together, they also formed a band called Kurt Vile & The Violators. He served as a guitarist and backing vocalist for the band. In 2005, they simultaneously established another indie rock band, The War on Drugs. The band has released five albums, including I Don’t Live Here Anymore and Wagonwheel Blues.
