Shannon Sharpe is a former professional football player with a 14-season career in the National Football League. Since his retirement, he has established himself as a prominent sports analyst. However, recently he is going viral for an explicit video that he seems to have accidentally shared on Instagram Live. Since then, it has drawn widespread reaction from people online, with the former ESPN host Michelle Beadle claiming that she is not Sharpe’s female romantic partner in the video.
Here is what Beadle had to say about the video.
Michelle Beadle says she isn’t the woman in the Shannon Sharpe video
Sharpe purportedly shared the clip on Instagram Live on Wednesday, September 11. While it did not show any person, it reportedly captured, among other things, a male voice saying, “That’s my Michelle.” It led to a lot of speculations, following which Michelle Beadle took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify that she was not the woman in the video.
“It was not me,” Beadle posted. Her post has since gone viral, garnering over six million views.
Although Sharpe initially claimed that his account was hacked, he later admitted during an episode of his Nightcap podcast that it was him in the since-deleted video and the clip was shared accidentally due to his lack of technological knowledge.
“Obviously I am embarrassed. Someone that is extremely, extremely private and to have one of your most intimate details — the audio — heard for the entire world to hear, I’m embarrassed for a number of reasons, ” the Pro Football Hall of Famer said.
“There are a lot of people that count on Shannon to be professional at all times and I always try to be professional at all times, even when I’m behind closed doors…I’m very disappointed in myself, not for the act,” Sharpe continued. “I think there are millions and billions of people of consenting age that engage in activities, but for the audio to be heard I’m disappointed in myself. I let a lot of people down,” he stated. (via Diario US)
