A recent rumor falsely claimed that Kevin Feige was leaving Marvel Studios after Avengers: Secret Wars, making fans worried. Feige has served as the president of Marvel Studios since 2007 and played an instrumental role in the creation and subsequent success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
False rumor about Kevin Feige leaving Marvel convinces many MCU fans
An X (formerly Twitter) account with the handle @MCUSource shared, “Breaking: Kevin Feige is planning to leave Marvel Studios after the release of #Avengers: Secret Wars!” This appears to be false, and Marvel hasn’t released any statement on the matter. However, some Marvel fans appear to believe it and have shared their thoughts in the comment section of the post.
A fan shared a post on X, saying this could be the “smartest move at this point.” They added, “Feels like Feige emptied the tank with Endgame. Ever since, the MCU’s felt hollow… no soul, no momentum, no real sense of direction. Which is wild, considering they finally have the Fantastic Four, X-Men, and (part of) Spider-Man in their arsenal.”
A second user wondered what the reason could be behind it and speculated on whether this meant that the MCU would be rebooted after Secret Wars.
Meanwhile, another fan offered a “salute” to Feige for what he had done for Marvel Studios and the MCU but added that “it is time for some new blood and new ideas.” However, some in the comment section were unconvinced. A few downright dismissed the idea, while some asked for the source. One user observed, “Don’t believe in everything he says these are just fake news.”
At the time of this writing, Feige remains the main producer of the MCU. There have been rumors about his potential exit over the years, but it hasn’t happened. The MCU remains one of the most successful entertainment franchises in the world, with millions of people looking forward to the next Marvel Studios release.
Avengers: Secret Wars premieres in US theaters on December 17, 2027.
