The chapter starts with a flashback to when Dali handed Iruma the Scala Exam Permit. He advises Iruma to take it easy and go on his own time. The latter is then left to his thoughts and wonders if he deserves to be promoted to Vav.
However, he is interrupted by his master, Bachiko, who arrives to congratulate him on the prize. She encourages and tells him to try his best, regardless of the outcome. He then goes to get permission from his grandpa before leaving.
The chapter returns to the present with Mephisto bringing him to the Wildlands for the exam. Iruma asks about the tents and the people who live in it. Mephisto explains that the tents are Migrant tents for the Many Ears race, an endangered species in the netherworld. He advises Iruma to keep his eyes peeled as he is no longer at school.
Mephisto then gives Iruma a bell, which he can use to ask Mephisto for anything but only once. However, Iruma rings the bell immediately. He uses the bell to ask for his friends to join him. The chapter ends with Iruma, Asmodeus, and Claire meeting the village chief.
