Max’s The Penguin has finally premiered its finale, conveying a fitting end to the arcs of all of its leading characters. Aside from Colin Farrell’s masterful portrayal of the titular villain, Cristin Milioti’s Sofia is the one that completely stole the limelight due to her powerful storyline. However, her harrowing fate towards the conclusion of The Penguin has left fans with a heavy heart for the tragic character. Still, the finale did introduce an element that teased a potential team-up between Sofia and Zoe Kravitz’s Selina Kyle. In a recent discussion, Cristin Milioti addressed this development, suggesting a potential encounter between the two half-sisters in The Batman 2.
The Penguin’s Sofia could crossover with Selina Kyle’s Catwoman in The Batman Part II
Milioti disclosed that she actively hopes to return as the unhinged yet troubled gangster in Matt Reeves’ Batman sequel. She also stated that a possible truce between Sofia and her on-screen half-sister Selina Kyle could lead to some explosive outcomes in Gotham.
The How I Met Your Mother actress expressed her views regarding her future in Reeves’ Batman universe during an interview with The Direct. While talking about her return as Sofia in future DC projects, Milioti also provided her take on the suggested team-up between her character and Selina Kyle, a.k.a. Catwoman.
“I mean, it’s my wildest hope that I get to revisit her, because I’ve loved this role so immensely. It’s like, one of my favorite things I’ve ever gotten to do, and I’m just obsessed with her,” Milioti expressed.
“And I think if [Sofia and Selina Kyle] were united, we would just really tear s— up. I don’t know how to say it…We would just like, burn it down. You know what I mean? In a fun way. I think we’d have a lot of fun,” she added.
Milioti also suggested that if a collaboration were to occur, it would feature the two of them taking on the likes of the Penguin as well as Batman.
In the final moments of The Penguin, Milioti’s Sofia receives a mysterious letter after unceremoniously returning to Arkham Asylum. Shortly afterward, viewers get to know that the person responsible for sending the note is none other than Selina Kyle.
The Batman Part 2 will hit theaters on October 2, 2026.
