This is not the update we wanted…
As we previously reported, Lil Jon‘s 27-year-old son, Nathan Smith, who also goes by the stage name DJ Young Slade, went missing in Georgia on Tuesday. The Milton Police Department said he “ran out of his house” at 6:00 a.m. that day, “and has been missing since,” adding that he “may be disoriented and in need of assistance.” There is now an update in the search for Nathan, and it’s not good.
Unfortunately, law enforcement believes he is dead. Oof. The police department announced via Facebook that divers with the Cherokee County Fire Department located and recovered a body from a pond in Mayfield Park near the musician’s Milton residence at 11:53 a.m. on Friday. According to cops, they think the remains belong to Nathan, but they are still awaiting official confirmation from the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.

At this time, police also do not suspect any “foul play” is involved. The statement continued:
“However, the Milton Police Department Criminal Investigations Division will continue to treat this as an open and active investigation. No further details will be released until the official cause and manner of death are determined by the Fulton County Medical Examiner and all investigative leads have been thoroughly examined.”
The Milton Police Department then offered its condolences to Nathan’s family, saying:
“We extend our deepest condolences to the Smith family during this difficult time. The department respectfully asks the community and members of the media to honor the family’s request for privacy as they grieve and navigate this tragedy.”
How heartbreaking. We are sending love to Lil Jon and his family following this tragedy.
