Dom Sherwood, an actor, has initiated a very emotional holiday charity campaign with the non-profit Limbitless Solutions, aiming to give a kid a custom-made bionic arm by the New Year. The ‘Shadowhunters’ star has invited his followers to make very small donations while stressing that even $1 is very useful. This initiative is a sequel to Sherwood’s partnership with Limbitless Solutions, which is a charity that provides advanced prosthetic limbs to kids without charging their families.

The actor sent out a personal video that was very warm and sincere. He said, “Hi everyone, Happy Holidays,” starting his greeting by addressing his viewers directly. He then went on to explain that Limbitless Solutions had been giving away customized bionic arms to kids with disabilities and that the parents of those kids had not been charged at all. “This is the very reason we need your help.” said Sherwood as he reassured the people that their support will be the same as collaboration between the church and community. “I know we are surrounded with such a wonderful community of people and I wanted to see if we can all come together and really support something very special this holiday season.”
The idea is very straightforward: to gather the exact amount for one bionic arm before the clock strikes midnight on December 31st. Sherwood remarked how painless it would be to join in the campaigning. “You don’t have to give a lot, I mean $1, $5, that’s it,” he said while the whole donation procedure was shown onscreen. He suggested PayPal, Venmo, or Cash App, saying it wouldn’t take more than a few seconds. One actor even requested the supporters to post their donation screenshots and tag the charity, making it seem like a shared journey. He concluded with, “A little gift during the festive season will be no less than a big gift to me and the Limbitless Solutions team and, of course, to the recipients.”
Limbitless Solutions’ official social media announcement was a reiteration of Sherwood’s request for help and also offered an easy 3-step process: make a donation through their link, follow their account for updates, and share your proof of support in stories. The collaboration presents a modern and effective way to charity by utilizing the celebrity influence of Sherwood for a real impact.
The community’s reaction was immediate and very positive, and it consisted of both the actor’s fans and the charity’s supporters. Many comments recognized the kindness of Sherwood’s character. For instance, one user labeled him as “THE perfect man” while another commented, “You are such a great human…God bless you.” “You’re super humble and the best human,” another fan said while tagging both Sherwood and the charity.
The atmosphere was full of gratitude and togetherness. “Aw my heart. Love this. Appreciate you beyond,” one user said in a very simple way. “If we can help, we must. I donated,” was the message from another who included heart and praise-hand emojis with the text. A supporter who was more practical said, “Done!! Thanks for all you do for these kids.”
Some users backed their statements with the personal connections they felt with Dom Sherwood and the new ones created through the actor’s projects. One person wrote, “Merry Christmas Dom, you’re fantastic and so loving. You will forever be my most beloved Shadowhunter,” while another shared, “I also want to express my gratitude to you because the series, Shadowhunters, has been a big part of my healing and I am more alive than ever thanks to you.” This person even committed to making a video on their story to help spread the word.
A few comments dealt with the issue of international donations. An Indian woman asked, “Can I send from India in rupees?” and was puzzled about how to make a donation from another country. A user made a funny though supportive remark: “Okay, because I haven’t spent enough money on you this year yet,” with a winking emoji next to it. Another user who wanted to help but could not donate said, “If you cannot give then at least share the post.”

Dom Sherwood’s campaign puts the donated peso or euro right at the impact and interaction point with the child it is helping. Thus, the double reponse from the first world and the community reflects an audience willing to engage with meaning-giving and that small contributions can collectively make a strong impact.
