The third series in AMCâs Anne Rice Immortal Universe, Talamasca, is coming out this fall. AMC announced at its upfront presentation on Wednesday, April 9, in New York City both the showâs official title and its premiere date window. On May 30 at the ATX TV Festival, the first-look photos and new cast members were revealed. And a new teaser dropped on June 22, the end of a weeks-long countdown that the Immortal Universeâs social accounts had been running.
The showâs full title is Anne Riceâs Talamasca: The Secret Order. The show is inspired by the supernatural watchdog agency featured in Riceâs The Vampire Chronicles and Lives of the Mayfair Witches book series. The drama kicked off production on Monday, October 7, 2024, and wrapped in early 2025. Stars Nicholas Denton and Elizabeth McGovern joined stars of the other AMC Anne Rice shows, Interview With the Vampire and Mayfair Witches, at the AMC upfront on April 9. The show also stars William Fichtner and Maisie Richardson-Sellers.
Celine Buckens will be series regular and Jason Schwartzman will guest star, as announced on May 30. Hereâs all the details on the six-episode debut season.
When does Talamasca: The Secret Order premiere?
Talamasca will premiere in October on AMC, the network announced on May 30.
Mayfair Witches Season 3 is currently in the writing process. Interview With the Vampire Season 3 starts filming in June in Toronto and premieres in 2026.
Talamasca is executive produced by Oscar-nominated John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side) and Mark Lafferty (The Right Stuff, Halt and Catch Fire), who also serve co-showrunners, and award-winning producer Mark Johnson, who oversees the Anne Rice Immortal Universe. Hancock will also direct.
What is Talamasca: The Secret Order about?
Talamasca Season 1 will be a six-episode season focusing on the men and women responsible for tracking and containing the witches, vampires, and other creatures scattered around the globe. Justin Kirkâs Raglan James, seen in Interview With the Vampire Season 2, and Tongayi Chirisaâs Ciprien Grieve, seen in Mayfair Witches, are both Talamasca agents, but thereâs no word on whether or not they might appear in Talamasca. The series is set in the present day.

â Anne Riceâs Interview with the Vampire (@AnneRiceAMC) June 23, 2025
The first teaser for Talamasca was shared on June 22. In it, Nicholas Denton is seen sleeping on a pullout couch and the voice of Schwartzmanâs character ominously says in voice over, âJust a friend whispering in your ear. Trust me, theyâre lying to you.â Flashes of Richardson-Sellers, Fichtner, Buckens, and McGovernâs characters flash by before a disturbing creature appears, fangs and all.
It looks like a vampire, but itâs more similar to the unsettling revenants seen in Interview With the Vampire Season 2 Episode 1 than the likes of Louis (Jacob Anderson), Lestat (Sam Reid), Claudia (Delainey Hayles), and Armand (Assad Zaman).

There have been social teasers featuring Denton, McGovern, and Fichtner saying things such as âWe watch the witchesâ and âWe watch the vampires.â There was also a teaser website that featured surveillance footage of characters from IWTV and Mayfair and Denton from the upcoming series (see above). The agencyâs motto is, âWe watch, and we are always there.â

Character details reveal more about the Talamasca plot. Both Denton and Fichtner will play series-regular characters made for the show rather than ones pulled from Riceâs extensive book catalog (the Talamasca is woven throughout both The Vampire Chronicles and Lives of the Mayfair Witches literary series â Kirkâs Raglan James is a main character from TVCâs Tale of the Body Thief).
Known for Starzâs Dangerous Liaisons, Denton plays Guy Anatole described as âbrilliant, handsome, and sharp on the surface, but heâs always known his mind works a little differently,â AMC shares.
The description continues: âOn the cusp of graduating law school, he is approached by a representative of the Talamasca, a secretive agency that monitors and protects us from the supernatural world. When Guy learns that the Talamasca has been tracking him since his childhood, he falls headlong into a world of secret agents and immortal beings who, up to now, have maintained a fragile balance with the mortal world. But for that balance to hold, and for Guy to survive, he will have to learn to embrace the dark, treacherous depths of his true and singular self.â
Known for roles in The Dark Knight, Armageddon, Crash, Mom, and more, Fichtner plays Jasper, âa mysterious American who has quietly assumed control and influence over the Talamascaâs London Motherhouse. Though his motives and methods are cloaked in shadow, his charm and righteous sense of purpose are as dangerous as the power heâs pursuing.â
McGovern plays Helen, a seasoned veteran of the Talamasca and the leader of its New York Motherhouse. She has long suspected that Londonâs Motherhouse has fallen under the influence of traitorous elements, and a mysterious death prompts her to recruit Guy Anatole (Denton), who will become her protĂ©gĂ©.
The Talamasca is already basically a supernatural spy agency, but Richardson-Sellersâ character seems to be more like a traditional spy. Richardson-Sellers plays Olive, described as âa beguiling and ambitious agent of the Talamasca, assigned to be Guy Anatoleâs (Denton) American handler. She is deft with information and a master of disguises in the old tradition of spy craft,â per Variety.
Richardson-Sellers has been seen in a New Orleans-set vampire series before. She played a witch named Eva Sinclair in The CWâs The Originals, a spinoff of The Vampire Diaries. Eva was at one point possessed by Rebekah Mikaelson (Claire Holt), one of the original vampires. Richardson-Sellers will soon be seen in the second seasons of Nine Perfect Strangers and Wolf Hall. She can also be seen in The CWâs Legends of Tomorrow, the second and third Kissing Booth films, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, among other titles.
Rounding out the main cast is Buckens, who plays Doris, strong-willed and with an old soul, she lives with a coven of witches on a houseboat. Schwartzman will guest star as a bloodsucker named Burton, a charming, rakish vampire, leading a cloistered life in a luxurious Upper West Side penthouse.
Will Talamasca cross over with Interview With the Vampire and Mayfair Witches?
Plot details are scarce for this spinoff right now, but provided that Felix â a vampire introduced in 2022 New Orleans in the IWTVÂ Season 2 finale â appeared in the Mayfair Witches Season 2, among other Easter eggs, crossovers are always possible.
