Katie Thurston Shares Exact Cost of $24K Fertility Shots

Katie Thurston is paying a lot — and we mean a lot — for fertility treatments before she begins chemo later this year.

The Bachelorette star shared a breakdown of the cost of accessing fertility care via Instagram Story. “Just one of my daily shots broken down by cost,” she captioned a screenshot on Sunday, March 9. “As someone with breast cancer, a lot of my fertility treatments will be covered in the state of New York.”

The claim sheet Thurston shared showed the cost of the shot is $24,349.18 and she has a discount of $11,337.43. Her insurance will pay $11,267.43.

Earlier on Sunday Thurston revealed that she’d changed her mind about having children after meeting her fiancé Jeff Arcuri. “One day you think you don’t want kids,” she wrote in the first Story post. “Then one day you meet the man of your dreams and would do anything to make sure we can start a family in the future.”

Thurston also shared a video featuring syringes, medications and alcohol prep pads. The third featured an explanation of everything Thurston is going through ahead of the egg retrieval. “For those who aren’t familiar with fertility treatment here is a typical schedule: 3 pills a day to keep my estrogen down. A shot in my stomach in the AM. Two shots in my stomach in the PM.”

Thurston explained that she visits a clinic for a blood draw “every other day” as part of her fertility treatment. She is currently in her second week of the retrieval process. The reality star shared her breast cancer diagnosis in February.

Thurston and Arcuri got engaged in September 2024. A source confirmed to Us Weekly that Arcuri proposed at Secret Beach in Kauai, Hawaii, in August of the same year. The pair first connected in April and met in person in May.

Thurston confirmed during a May appearance on the “Your Mom & Dad” podcast that she was “happily snatched up.” She explained, “I’m seeing somebody. I haven’t actually said this yet. You heard it here first. [I’ve been] taken off the market.”

“We’re just kinda enjoying us right now,” she said. “I don’t know if there’s anything I hate about him. Everything’s still cute and quirky and adorable.”

The duo made their relationship public one month later when Thurston shared a photo of the two in a post on Instagram. “Safe to say he’s making it to hometowns next week ❤️,” Thurston wrote at the time, referencing her Bachelor Nation past.
